Yasir Hussain, a well-known actor, writer, and director, has stirred controversy again. Married to top star Iqra Aziz, with whom he shares a son, Hussain’s recent comments have ignited public debate.
He suggested that the government consider legalizing and regulating adult content, arguing it could generate significant revenue. Hussain clarified he neither watches nor is interested in creating adult content but noted its widespread consumption. He mentioned that some stage plays already touch on adult themes, hinting at cultural tolerance that could be monetized.
His comments drew sharp criticism. Social media buzzed with reactions ranging from outrage to disbelief. One user said, “Just because people are addicted to it, the government ought to legalize it. Wow. What a statement.” Another called him an “attention seeker.”
This suggestion has opened a broader discussion on regulating adult content in Pakistan, known for high consumption rates despite strict laws.
