Josh Inglis Named Australia’s New White-Ball Captain, Replaces Pat Cummins

Ahead of the T20 series against Pakistan, Cricket Australia appointed Josh Inglis as captain of the white-ball team, stepping in for Pat Cummins.

Australian wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglis will lead the team in the upcoming T20 series against Pakistan and the final ODI match. He is set to face off with Pakistan’s wicketkeeper-captain Mohammad Rizwan.

Key Australian players, including Steve Smith, Marnus Labuschagne, Josh Hazlewood, and Mitchell Starc, will skip the final ODI as they prepare for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy series against India.

Cricket Australia decided to appoint Inglis as vice-captain. Mitchell Marsh was unavailable, and Pat Cummins was focused on the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series. At the same time, Australia faces a thrilling contest with Pakistan.

Australia won the first ODI against Pakistan by two wickets in a tight match, with Pakistan’s bowlers nearly turning the game by reducing Australia to 185/8.

Inglis, who has captained domestically, is eager to lead the national side. Fast bowlers Xavier Bartlett, wicketkeeper-batter Josh Philippe, and Spencer Johnson have joined the squad for the series.
