Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump delivered their final US Election 2024 campaign messages to Pennsylvania voters, each holding events in the state’s southeastern region at almost the same time. With the presidential campaign winding down, both candidates focused on Pennsylvania, a state seen as pivotal to securing victory. Pennsylvania is one of the crucial key swing states with 19 electoral votes. Nicknamed the Keystone State, Pennsylvania could in fact be the key to the White House.
Trump addressed a crowd in Reading, just 30 miles from Allentown, where Harris took the stage about half an hour later. Emphasizing the state’s importance, Trump remarked, “If we win Pennsylvania, we win the whole ball of wax. It’s over.”
A win in Pennsylvania would significantly boost Trump’s path to victory by weakening the Democrats’ “blue wall” and complicating Harris’s chances of reaching 270 votes.
Harris, the Democratic nominee, devoted her day to Pennsylvania, the largest battleground state expected to shape the Electoral College results. She underscored the stakes, urging Pennsylvanians to participate: “We need everyone in Pennsylvania to vote. You are going to make the difference in this election.”
Her campaign stops included Allentown, Scranton (President Joe Biden’s birthplace), and Reading, with plans to conclude in Pittsburgh and wrap up with a late-night rally in Philadelphia featuring appearances by Lady Gaga and Oprah Winfrey.
