Recently, the Sindh government held its first auction of 40 premium number plates in Karachi, attracting various buyers from the city.
The auction at a local hotel saw the first number plate, “A1,” sold for 100 million rupees. Businessman Muzamal Kareem placed the highest bid and received the ownership certificate from Sindh’s Senior Minister, Sharjeel Memon.
Another premium number plate, “786,” was purchased by businessman Sorosh for 26.5 million rupees. Sindh Energy Minister Nasir Shah awarded him the ownership certificate.
Number plates “A5” and “A7” were sold for 53 million PKR and 46 million PKR, respectively, showing the strong demand for these unique numbers.
The auction of the 40 number plates generated 67.54 crore PKR for the Sindh government. The ministers announced that the proceeds would help fund the construction of houses for flood victims in Sindh.
