Pakistani-American Salman Bhojani has won a second term in the Texas State Assembly, securing his seat unopposed.
Representing District 92 as a Democrat, Bhojani, originally from Karachi, first took office on January 10, 2023.
In the 2022 election, he defeated Republican Joe Livingston, earning 20,182 votes compared to Livingston’s 14,610. This year, no Republican candidate ran against him, likely due to his previous success.
Bhojani graduated from the University of Texas in Dallas and earned a law degree from Southern Methodist University. His career includes roles as an attorney and city council member.
During his campaign, Bhojani emphasized the importance of local and state elections, urging the Pakistani-American community to recognize their voting power in shaping key issues.
He called voting a powerful tool that allows people to push for legislation that benefits their communities.
Notably, many candidates of Asian origin, including Indians and Pakistanis, are participating in U.S. elections across various states.
