Synthetic milk factory seized in Karachi

Karachi: The Sindh Food Authority (SFA) raided a factory in Karachi’s Bhens Colony, seizing toxic chemicals and arresting the staff for producing synthetic milk, as reported by GRY News.

The raid was conducted after complaints that the factory created fake milk by mixing chemicals with water. This network had been operating for a long time, supplying impure milk labelled as “fresh milk from Bhens Colony” to various parts of Karachi.

The SFA team, led by ADG Muzammil Haliopoto, confiscated 750 kg of chemicals to make 9,000 litres of fake milk. Additionally, 480 litres of prepared synthetic milk were seized and discarded. The factory staff was arrested, and the SFA vowed to take strict action against those producing and distributing contaminated milk.

ADG Muzammil Haliopoto emphasized that those harming public health will not be spared. He revealed that the network had been active for a long time, producing fake milk by mixing chemicals with water.

On July 9, authorities in Lahore arrested an individual for selling poisonous milk. During the raid, they found canisters filled with soap, washing powder, and ghee, which led to the seizure and disposal of hundreds of litres of artificial milk.

DG Food Authority Punjab, Asim Javed, confirmed that an FIR had been filed against Salim Mayo. Mayo had been caught selling fake milk three times before and was currently out on bail.
