ISLAMABAD: Six Supreme Court judges, including Justices Mansoor Ali Shah, Munib Akhtar, Ayesha Malik, Shahid Waheed, Athar Minallah, and Malik Shehzad, did not attend the full court reference held to honor outgoing Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa, reported ARY News.
This reference, traditionally attended by all Supreme Court justices to bid farewell to the outgoing CJP, saw fewer attendees this year as CJP Isa retired today after over a year of service. The Supreme Court Bar Association and Pakistan Bar Council held a farewell dinner for him Thursday night, attended by his successor Justice Yahya Afridi, other Supreme Court judges, and the chief justices of all high courts.
President Asif Ali Zardari will administer the oath to Justice Yahya Afridi, the new CJP, in a ceremony set for tomorrow.
