Grammy-winning singer Arooj Aftab recently made her debut on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and left viewers spellbound. She performed “Raat Ki Rani,” a track from her new album Night Rain, delivering a soulful performance that resonated with audiences globally, breaking language barriers.
Released in May 2024, Night Rain has received widespread praise. The album earned Aftab two Grammy nominations—Best Alternative Jazz Album and Best Global Music Performance.

In 2022, Aftab became the first Pakistani artist to win a Grammy, receiving the Best Global Music Performance award for her song “Mohabbat.” Reflecting on her early struggles, she shared that people once told her, “No one’s going to care about your little beautiful songs,” but her persistence led to groundbreaking success.
In 2023, she made history again as the first Pakistani musician to perform at the Grammys, joining Anoushka Shankar for a powerful rendition of “Udhero Na.” Her achievements inspire South Asian communities worldwide, proving that dreams once considered impossible can come true.
