Sindh Governor Requests Two Holidays for Eid Milad-un-Nabi

Karachi: Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori has requested the federal government to declare holidays across Pakistan for Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH).

Governor Tessori plans to write to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, asking him to announce public holidays on 11 and 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal so people can celebrate the occasion with religious devotion. He emphasized that the birthday of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) holds great significance for Muslims worldwide.

Rabi-ul-Awwal 11 and 12 will fall on September 16 and 17 (Monday and Tuesday), the beginning of the third Islamic month.

While the federal government has declared September 17 (Tuesday) a public holiday for Eid Milad-un-Nabi, it remains to be seen if the Prime Minister will approve the governor’s request for two holidays.

The 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal, or Eid Milad-un-Nabi, is a significant day in the Islamic calendar. It is celebrated with great devotion as the birthday of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), whose teachings guide billions of people worldwide.

Across Pakistan, preparations for the occasion are in full swing. Cities and towns decorate homes, streets, and buildings with lights and banners, while religious organizations plan events and processions.
