    Sindh announces public holiday on August 20

    The Sindh government has declared a public holiday across the province on August 20 (Tuesday) to celebrate the yours of Sufi poet Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai.

    A government notification states that all offices, educational institutions. Autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies, corporations, and local councils under the Sindh government will remain closed on 14th Safar. Which corresponds to August 20.

    However, essential services are exempted from this order and will continue to operate across the province.

    Yours begins every year on the 14th Safar, the second month of the Hijra calendar, and lasts three days. The three-day celebration kicks off with poetry marathons, literature conferences, and other activities.
