Shehbaz Sharif Hopes for Stronger Pakistan-US Ties in Trump’s New Term

After Donald Trump’s election as the 47th President of the United States, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and other Pakistani leaders congratulated him, expressing hope for stronger ties between Pakistan and the US.

In a message on X, PM Shehbaz Sharif congratulated Trump on his “historic victory for a second term” and shared his eagerness to work with the new administration to strengthen the Pakistan-US partnership. Other leaders from Pakistan joined in extending their congratulations and best wishes.

Defense Minister Khawaja Asif welcomed Trump’s win, emphasizing that Pakistan respects the choice of the American people. He added that while the US prioritizes its interests, Pakistan will also continue to safeguard its own.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif also congratulated Trump and expressed optimism for an improvement in Pakistan-US relations under his leadership.
