Shaheen Shah Afridi and his wife, Ansha Afridi, joyfully welcomed their baby boy, Ali Yar, on Saturday. The Afridi family shared the happy news through the Pakistan Cricket Board’s official WhatsApp group, quickly spreading the word.
As Shaheen was busy playing a test match against Bangladesh, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi praised his dedication to Pakistan and congratulated the couple. He posted on X, “Congrats to Shaheen Afridi on the birth of his son! May the family be blessed with happiness, and may Allah continue His blessings on them. It’s amazing to see Shaheen’s commitment to Pakistan, even as he misses precious moments with his newborn. Kudos to him!”
This news also makes former cricketer Shahid Afridi, Ansha’s father, a proud grandfather. Olympic gold medalist Arshad Nadeem joined the celebration, tweeting, “Congratulations to Shaheen Shah Afridi on your baby boy! And to Shahid Afridi for becoming a grandfather. May Allah bless the little one with health and joy. Best wishes to your family!”

Shaheen and Ansha tied the knot in Karachi in September 2023, with many cricket stars attending the wedding.
