Shaheen Shah Afridi, the Pakistani fast bowler, is expecting his first child with his wife, Ansha Afridi, next month.
Jason Gillespie, the national team’s red-ball coach, said, “Shaheen might miss the Bangladesh Test matches due to the birth of his child. We are ready to give him leave if he decides to stay with his wife during this time.”
Shaheen and Ansha had their nikah ceremony at Zakaria Mosque in Karachi in February 2023. Their wedding and valima celebrations took place later that year. The wedding happened on September 19 at a local hotel in Karachi, attended by current and former cricketers like Babar Azam, Misbah-ul-Haq, Saeed Anwer, Sohail Khan, Tanveer Ahmed, and others. The valium was held in Islamabad on September 21.
This news about Shaheen’s potential absence from the national team comes as Pakistan prepares for a two-match Test series against Bangladesh in August. Recently, Shaheen has been in the spotlight due to reports of alleged misconduct with coaches and management staff.
