Pakistan’s pace bowler Shaheen Afridi performed Umrah and shared the moment on Instagram on Sunday.
In his post, Afridi shared a photo of himself inside the Grand Mosque in Makkah with the Ka’aba in the background.
“Alhamdulillah Ka’abe ki ronak – Ka’abe ka manzar Allahu Akbar – Allahu Akbar,” he captioned the post.
Social media users filled the comments with congratulations, celebrating his significant religious achievement.
Earlier, Afridi made headlines when reports claimed he disagreed with the coaching staff and team management during recent tours.
Afridi reportedly argued with batting coach Mohammad Yousuf during Pakistan’s tour to Ireland and England before the T20 World Cup 2024.
Sources said the incident happened during a net practice at Headingley when Afridi verbally exchanged with Yousuf.
Reports later mentioned that former Pakistan captains offered to mediate a dispute between Afridi, white-ball captain Babar Azam, and wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan.
Sources told GRY News that the former captains contacted the senior team members and arranged a meeting at a former captain’s residence once Afridi returned to Pakistan.
