An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Karachi has sent Chanesar Town Chairman Farhan Ghani brother of Sindh Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani to Karachi police custody until August 28 on claims of beating a government worker monitoring the installation of fibre optic cable on Shara-e-Faisal.
Attempted murder, terrorism, wrongful confinement, assault and criminal intimidation are all charges contained in the FIR. Farhan refutes the charges, saying that he merely asked the permission certificate (NOC) to the roadside digging and did not attack anyone. A progress report is ordered at the next hearing by the court.
