Bollywood actor Salman Khan has received another death threat, allegedly from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The message, sent via WhatsApp to Mumbai Traffic Police, demanded ₹5 crore to “end the enmity” with the gang. It warned that if the actor doesn’t pay, his fate would be worse than that of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddiqui, who was recently killed, reportedly by the same gang.
The threat message read, “Don’t take this lightly. If Salman Khan wants to live and end the feud with Lawrence Bishnoi, he must pay ₹5 crore. Otherwise, his fate will be worse than Baba Siddiqui’s.”
Mumbai Police are actively investigating the message’s origins and have increased security around Salman Khan’s Bandra residence. The actor has been on high alert due to previous threats, and this latest warning has heightened concerns for his safety.
Recently, Navi Mumbai Police arrested Sukha, alias Sukhbir Balbir Singh, a vital member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, in Panipat, Haryana. Singh was reportedly involved in a plot to assassinate Salman Khan. According to police sources, Singh had been in direct contact with Dogar, a Pakistani handler, to coordinate the attack. The gang planned to use high-powered firearms like AK-47s and M16s smuggled from Pakistan for the assassination.
This arrest is part of a more extensive investigation into the Bishnoi gang’s conspiracy against the actor. Earlier this year, 18 members of the gang were charged with plotting to kill Salman Khan following a shooting outside his Bandra home. Notable gang members include Lawrence Bishnoi, his brother Anmol, and others like Sampat Nehra, Goldie Brar, and Rohit Godhara.
The police investigation has revealed that the Bishnoi gang had deployed 60 to 70 operatives to monitor Salman Khan’s movements at his Bandra home, Panvel farmhouse, and shooting locations. The gang even tried recruiting minors as sharpshooters.
This is not the first threat against Salman Khan. In 2022, a letter was found near his home, and in 2023, he received an email from gang members. In January 2024, two individuals attempted to enter his Panvel farmhouse with fake identities, leading to increased security measures.
The feud between Salman Khan and Lawrence Bishnoi dates back to the 1998 blackbuck poaching case. The Bishnoi community, which reveres the blackbuck, has held a grudge against Khan since then, with Bishnoi vowing revenge.
