Punjab govt to launch free transport services

The Punjab government, led by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), plans to offer free public transport for senior citizens, students, and people with disabilities.

The transport department and Mass Transit Authority have submitted a proposal to the Cabinet Committee on Finance for final approval. Once approved, the program will provide free rides on the Orange Line, Metro, and Speedo buses in Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi.

A meeting led by Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb is expected to finalize the approval soon. This initiative will significantly improve mobility for these vulnerable groups across Punjab.
