Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif took a step towards political harmony by meeting members of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-backed Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) during the National Assembly session on Wednesday.
The Prime Minister walked over to the PTI-backed SIC members at their seats. PM Shehbaz also shook hands with PTI-backed Opposition Leader Umar Ayub Khan and other opposition legislators, including Ali Muhammad Khan, Asad Qaiser, and Zain Qureshi.
Additionally, PM Shehbaz Sharif embraced Maulana Fazlur Rahman at his seat in the Assembly, signaling a reduction in political tensions.
It’s worth noting that the government has offered to hold dialogue with PTI. However, PTI is divided on this issue. Some leaders support talks, while others oppose negotiations, stating that PTI will only discuss matters with the Establishment.
Meanwhile, Maulana Fazlur Rahman, a former close ally of PML-N, also criticizes the government on various issues.
