Pakistan HC to File Case with Scotland Yard Over Attack on Ex-CJP Qazi Faez Isa

The Pakistan High Commission (HC) in the UK plans to file a case with Scotland Yard against individuals who attacked former Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa’s car in London.

Nine suspects will be charged in connection with the incident, during which the Pakistan High Commission’s vehicle was damaged. The HC aims to work with Scotland Yard to formally register the case.

Following the attack, Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemned the incident and instructed the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to identify the attackers and file a first information report (FIR) against them. Naqvi ordered that the attackers’ passports and CNICs be immediately suspended and requested officials to initiate the process of revoking their citizenship. He intends to submit the citizenship cancellation request to the federal cabinet for approval.

The incident reportedly involved Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporters, who attempted to smash Isa’s car windows during a gathering. Justice Isa was in London to attend a ceremony in his honor at Middle Temple, where he became the first Pakistani judge invited to their prestigious Tuesday dinner.
