Pakistan Government to Ban Imran Khan’s PTI

ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Attaullah Tarar announced on Monday that the federal government has decided to ban the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) due to alleged anti-state activities.

At a news conference in Islamabad, Tarar stated, “We believe there is credible evidence to justify banning PTI, considering the foreign funding case, the May 9 riots, the cipher episode, and the resolution passed in the US.”

He also mentioned that the government would request the Supreme Court of Pakistan to review its recent ruling that entitled PTI to seats reserved for women and minorities.

Meanwhile, PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi has been indicted in cases related to the May 9 riots, and PTI founder Imran Khan has been arrested in connection with the Jinnah House attack.
