Pakistan Eliminated from Women’s T20 WC After Defeat to New Zealand

In the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, Pakistan faced a crushing defeat against New Zealand, getting bowled out for just 56 runs while chasing a target of 111. This match, held at Dubai International Stadium, marked the end of Pakistan’s journey in the tournament as New Zealand advanced to the semi-finals.

Pakistan’s performance was disappointing, especially since they had successfully restricted New Zealand to 110 runs. However, they lost the game by 54 runs. The team, led by Fatima Sana, struggled early, losing six wickets within the first ten overs, including veteran player Nida Dar.

Only two Pakistani batters reached double figures: opener Muneeba Ali scored 15 runs off 11 balls, and captain Fatima Sana contributed 21 runs off 23 balls. The rest of the batting lineup faltered, with four players, including opener Aliya Riaz, failing to score.

New Zealand’s Amelia Kerr was the standout bowler, taking three wickets, while Eden Carson followed with two. Rosemary Mair, Lea Tahuhu, and Fran Jones each claimed one wicket against Pakistan.

New Zealand batted first, winning the toss and finishing their innings at 110 runs for six wickets.
