Pakistan Bowled Out for 274 Against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi Test

Pakistan was bowled out for 274 in their first innings against Bangladesh on the second day of the second Test in Rawalpindi. The first day’s play was washed out due to rain.

Pakistan started strong, reaching 99-1 at lunch. Shan Masood scored 57, and Saim Ayub added 58. However, Bangladesh’s off-spinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz turned the game around, taking five wickets, including Masood and Ayub.

The momentum shifted in the second session when Shakib Al Hasan dismissed captain Babar Azam for 31 with a low ball. Agha Salman was given a lifeline when Zakir Hasan dropped a catch at short-leg, but Salman was yet to score when Mohammad Rizwan, unbeaten on 18, joined him at the crease.

Bangladesh’s Taskin Ahmed, replacing the injured Shoriful Islam, bowled Saud Shakeel for 16 after he survived a dropped catch by Mehidy.
The first day was lost to rain, but Pakistan showed solid batting initially after being sent in by Bangladesh. Despite this, Bangladesh restricted the home team to a modest total.

Pakistan made two changes from the first Test, resting Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah in favour of Mir Hamza and Abrar Ahmed. Bangladesh is looking to secure the series after winning the first Test by ten wickets, marking their first victory over Pakistan in 14 attempts.

This two-match series is part of the World Test Championship’s third cycle.
