    Pakistan Beats India in U-19 Asia Cup Opener

    DUBAI: Pakistan secured a thrilling victory against arch-rivals India in their opening match of the U-19 Asia Cup at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

    Pakistan’s bowlers delivered a stellar performance, defending a total of 282 runs by dismantling India’s batting lineup.

    Fast bowler Ali Raza, who faced recent scrutiny, led the attack with three crucial wickets. Abdul Subhan and Faham-ul-Haq took two wickets each, while Naveed Ahmed Khan claimed the vital wicket of Nikhil Kumar, India’s top scorer. All-rounder Usman also chipped in with a wicket after contributing 61 runs with the bat.

    For India, Nikhil Kumar stood out with a solid 67 runs, hitting six fours and three sixes.

    Earlier, Pakistan’s openers laid a strong foundation with a 160-run partnership. Shahzaib Khan smashed a remarkable 159 off 147 balls, including five fours and ten sixes, setting a new record for the most sixes in youth ODIs.

    Usman supported with 60 runs, but a middle-order collapse saw Pakistan finish at 281-7. Mohammad Riaz was the only other batsman to reach double figures.

    Samarth Nagaraj was India’s most effective bowler, claiming three wickets.

    This victory adds to Pakistan’s momentum amid the ongoing cricket action in the Champions Trophy.
