    Pak, India Foreign Ministers Hold Key Meeting at SCO Summit

    Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and India’s External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar held an important meeting during the SCO Heads of Government summit in Islamabad. The meeting, described as extraordinary, occurred at a reception hosted by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for the leaders of SCO member states.

    At India’s request, FM Dar’s seat was placed next to Jaishankar’s, where both ministers engaged in a pleasant discussion. While the details of their conversation have not yet been revealed, reports suggest a positive atmosphere.

    After attending the SCO conference, Jaishankar returned to India and expressed gratitude to PM Shehbaz Sharif and FM Dar for their warm hospitality.

    Earlier, Jaishankar addressed the summit, emphasizing the importance of mutual respect and sovereign equality among SCO members. He called for upholding territorial integrity, fostering trust, and promoting good neighbourly relations. He also highlighted the need to combat terrorism, separatism, and extremism.

    Jaishankar reaffirmed the SCO’s commitment to its founding principles and urged member states to collaborate on pressing global issues. He also stressed the importance of reforming institutions like the UN Security Council to make them more inclusive and accountable.
