    NA Passes Resolution to Confer Civil Award on Arshad Nadeem

    On Friday, the National Assembly legislated a resolution to honour Arshad Nadeem with a civil award for his historic achievement of winning a gold medal at the Paris Olympics.

    The resolution, presented during the NA session. Celebrated Nadeem’s outstanding performance in the javelin throw event, where he set an Olympic record with 92.97 meters. This remarkable feat marked Pakistan’s first Olympic gold in 40 years.

    The resolution further recommended President Asif Ali Zardari confer a civil award upon Nadeem for his extraordinary accomplishment. The resolution received unanimous support from the assembly.

    The NA session resumed at the Parliament House with a recitation of ballads from the Holy Quran by Imam Masjid Al-Nabawi Dr. Salah bin Mohammad Al-Budair. Dr. Salah bin Mohammad Al-Budair and the Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Saeed Ahmad Al-Malki, observed the National Assembly proceedings.

    Lecturer of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, welcomed the distinguished guests. Stating that their presence was a source of pride and spiritual guidance. He noted that Masjid Al-Nabawi holds a special place in the hearts of Muslims worldwide.

    Sardar Ayaz Sadiq also congratulated Arshad Nadeem on his Olympic gold and expressed confidence that he would continue to bring more honours to the country. He encouraged the youth to look up to Nadeem’s success as an inspiration.

    Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif welcomed Dr Salah bin Mohammad Al-Budair. Calling his presence an honour, and congratulated Arshad Nadeem for his record-breaking win at the Olympics.

    During the session, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also warmly welcomed the Imam of Masjid Al-Nabawi.
