Former Pakistani Senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan has been released from Israeli detention, confirmed Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar on Friday.
Mushtaq Ahmed was earlier detained by Israeli naval forces while traveling through the red zone as part of a mission to break the Gaza blockade.
Dar stated that Mushtaq Ahmed is now at the Pakistan Embassy in Amman, Jordan, and is in good health and high spirits. The embassy is coordinating his safe return to Pakistan as per his wishes.
Dar expressed gratitude to friendly countries that helped Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry secure the senator’s release.
Earlier, Pir Mazhar Saeed Shah, another participant of the Gaza Sumud Flotilla, safely returned to Pakistan from Doha, while Israel recently released 137 activists, including 36 Turkish nationals.
