Mohammad Zubair Discusses Possibility of Joining PTI

ISLAMABAD: Former Sindh Governor Mohammad Zubair has discussed the possibility of joining Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). He confirmed that discussions are ongoing, but no final decision has been made yet.

Speaking on ARY News’ show “Khabar,” Zubair acknowledged that talks about his potential move to Imran Khan’s party are in progress. When asked if he would join PTI after Imran Khan’s release, he suggested waiting and seeing what happens is best.

Zubair also noted that PTI is currently facing challenges due to its leader’s jailing. He called for the dismissal of what he described as “false” cases against PTI and urged the formation of a judicial committee to investigate the May 9 riots.

“There should be a judicial inquiry into the May 9 incidents, and the prosecution must thoroughly examine the cases. These events should not be used for political advantage,” Zubair added.

It’s important to note that PTI Spokesman Raoof Hassan recently mentioned that Zubair, a dissident of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), is interested in joining PTI. During an appearance on ARY News’ “Off the Record,” Hassan stated that former President Arif Alvi had relayed Zubair’s interest to PTI.

Hassan also emphasized that those who left PTI during tough times would not easily be welcomed back.
