Pakistan’s left-arm all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz made a remarkable leap in the latest ICC T20I Rankings, climbing eight places to reach sixth among the world’s best all-rounders. His rise follows an impressive performance against South Africa in Rawalpindi, where he took three wickets and smashed 36 runs off 20 balls.
Despite Pakistan’s 55-run defeat, Nawaz’s performance was a bright spot. Meanwhile, Saim Ayub continues to top the global T20I all-rounder chart with 262 rating points, ahead of India’s Hardik Pandya and Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi.
Among batters, Sahibzada Farhan rose to 11th place with 670 points, consolidating his position as Pakistan’s leading T20I batter. Mohammad Rizwan climbed to 40th, while Babar Azam retained 39th place.
On the bowling front, Abrar Ahmed slipped to 8th, Shaheen Afridi dropped to 16th, and Sufiyan Muqeem fell to 19th. Nawaz’s consistent all-round impact also lifted him six spots to 33rd in the bowlers’ list.
In ODIs, Shaheen Afridi advanced to 14th among bowlers, while Rizwan and Imam-ul-Haq improved their batting ranks. However, Nawaz slipped to 72nd in the ODI all-rounder list.
GRY News Analysis:
Nawaz’s performance reflects Pakistan’s growing reliance on multi-skilled players in white-ball formats. With Saim Ayub maintaining top global form, Pakistan’s T20I lineup is gaining balance ahead of next year’s ICC tournaments.
