Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz arrived in Beijing on Sunday and was warmly welcomed by Chinese government officials.
According to Pak Observer, officials from China’s ruling Communist Party greeted her upon arrival. Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, and his wife were also present at the airport to receive her.
Maryam Nawaz held a meeting with a high-level delegation of the Communist Party of China shortly after her arrival. During the meeting, the delegation assured her of China’s support in helping Punjab achieve new economic milestones.
Speaking at the meeting, Maryam emphasized the growing strength of the China-Pakistan friendship and expressed gratitude to the Chinese government on behalf of the people of Punjab.
Deputy Director General of the Communist Party Lin Tao, along with officials such as Li Zhenyao, Chen Zhenbo, Seng Guoyu, Miss Chen Yubo, and Miss Zhou Chenyu, played a key role in welcoming her.
Maryam Nawaz is accompanied by Senator Pervez Rashid, Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Information Minister Azma Zahid Bokhari, Provincial Minister Bilal Akbar, and Ashiq Kirmani on this official visit.
Earlier on Sunday, Maryam departed for China, marking a historic milestone as the first Pakistani woman chief minister to visit the country. Her visit is aimed at strengthening ties with Pakistan’s close neighbor and fostering cooperation in various sectors.
