Dania Shah, the widow of the late politician and TV anchor Dr. Aamir Liaquat Hussain, has remarried. She tied the knot with her lawyer, Shahzad Hakeem. The couple confirmed their marriage in a video statement released on Tuesday.
In the video, Dania shared that they married a few months ago for personal reasons and because she needed a Mehram (male guardian). Shahzad Hakeem also confirmed their union, mentioning that they married two to three months ago.
Earlier this year, in May, Dania announced that she had hired Shahzad Hakeem as her lawyer to help her claim her share of Dr Aamir Liaquat’s inheritance, with a fee of Rs 200 million. Their professional relationship has since turned into a marriage.
Dr Aamir Liaquat married Dania Shah on February 10, 2022. However, their relationship quickly fell apart, and within three months, Dania announced her intention to divorce, citing “abuse and mistreatment.” During this time, an objectionable video of Dr. Liaquat in a state of undress was allegedly leaked by Dania.
Dr. Liaquat was found unconscious at his residence on June 5, 2022, and was later pronounced dead at Aga Khan University Hospital. After his death, the FIA arrested Dania Shah in Lodhran on suspicion of leaking the indecent video. The Sindh High Court granted her bail in February 2023.
