Kylian Mbappe Denies Rape Allegation Reports

Kylian Mbappe, the French football star, has vehemently denied reports claiming he is under investigation for alleged rape in Stockholm, labelling them as “fake news.” While Swedish officials confirmed that a probe has been opened regarding an alleged attack, they did not name any suspects.

Mbappe’s representatives criticized the allegations as “totally false and irresponsible,” calling the spread of such rumours unacceptable. A spokesperson stated, “A new slanderous rumour is starting to ignite the web. Kylian Mbappe will not tolerate any damage to his integrity, reputation, and honour from unfounded claims.”

On social media, the 25-year-old forward shared a link to a French news article related to the allegations, adding the words “FAKE NEWS” and expressing frustration at the predictability of such reports.

Swedish media, including SVT, Expressen, and Aftonbladet, reported that Mbappe was named a suspect in the investigation. Despite this, he trained with Real Madrid on Tuesday, and the club has not commented on the situation.

Mbappe’s lawyer, Marie-Alix Canu-Bernard, stated on TF1 that they are still determining who the complaint targets but emphasized that Mbappe never puts himself in risky situations. She insisted, “It excludes any reprehensible behaviour on his part. He is certain he has done nothing wrong.”

She also mentioned that if authorities directly investigate him, he will cooperate, but he remains flabbergasted by the media frenzy surrounding the allegations. French national team coach Didier Deschamps said these reports are “not good for the French team.”
