PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) government has announced a salary increase of up to 25% for its employees.
A private TV channel reported that the KPK government had increased salaries by 10 to 25 per cent, bringing good news for government employees in the province.
Previously, the KPK government approved a 10% salary increase in the annual budget.
Finance Advisor Muzamil Aslam stated that the cabinet will soon approve the salary increase. He mentioned that this increase would add 75 to 80 billion rupees to the treasury.
Aslam added that the KPK government is following the federation’s pattern in raising salaries.
The federal government recently announced employee salary increases in the 2024-25 budget. The minimum wage for federal employees is now Rs37,000. For federal employees in grades 1-16, salaries have been increased by 25%, and for those in grades 17-22, by 20%.
