Karachi may see light rain today

Karachi is expected to receive light to moderate rain today, according to weather analysts. The system is moving slowly toward the city, currently positioned 310 km southeast of Karachi, and may turn into a depression within 12 hours.

The Met Office forecast shows maximum temperatures of 35–37°C and a minimum of 25.5°C, with humidity at 81%. Winds are blowing from the northeast at 11 km/h. Other Sindh districts, including Hyderabad, Badin, Mirpur Khas, Umerkot, Sanghar, and Tharparkar, are also likely to experience rain and thunderstorms.

Marine conditions remain risky, with winds reaching 45–55 km/h. Fishermen are strictly advised not to venture into open seas until October 2. Authorities have warned that heavy showers and strong winds may damage weak structures, billboards, and power poles in vulnerable areas.

Officials confirmed there is no immediate cyclone threat to Pakistan’s coastal belt, but the low-pressure system may intensify further in the coming days. Provincial disaster management authorities have instructed local administrations to remain on high alert.
