Israel Says Hezbollah Rocket Attack Kills 12 at Football Ground

A rocket attack hit a football ground in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights on Saturday, killing 12 people, including children, according to Israeli authorities. They blamed Hezbollah for the attack and vowed to impose a severe punishment on the Iran-backed Lebanese group.

Hezbollah has denied any involvement in the strike. Which is the deadliest incident in Israel or Israeli-annexed areas since the Gaza conflict began.
The attack has significantly heightened tensions between the parties. Raising concerns about a potential full-scale conflict between the heavily armed adversaries.

The rocket hit a football pitch in the Druze village of Majdal Shams, located in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights. This area was captured from Syria by Israel during the 1967 Middle East war and was later annexed, a move not recognized by most countries.

“Hezbollah will face serious consequences, ones it has not faced before,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated during a phone call with the leader of Israel’s Druze community, according to a statement from his office.
