ISLAMABAD – A district and sessions court in Islamabad is poised to announce the verdict today (June 27) on the petitions filed by PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi against their conviction in the Iddat case.
Imran Khan, who was ousted as prime minister in April 2022, faces multiple legal challenges, including allegations of corruption and illegal nikkah. Since August 2023, he has been detained in Adiala Jail due to the Iddat case conviction.
Earlier this year, both were sentenced to seven years in jail for marrying during Bushra Bibi’s Iddat period. The initial verdict by Senior Civil Judge Qudratullah was later challenged and transferred to Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka, who reserved the final verdict on June 25.
