Raj Kumar Thapa, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of the Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir district of Rajouri, has died from injuries following a Pakistani attack.
The incident occurred during a targeted strike by Pakistani forces in the Rajouri sector along the Line of Control (LoC), where Indian military and administrative installations were targeted.
Sources say the attack is part of a broader campaign by Pakistan to destroy Indian positions allegedly used for sabotage activities inside Pakistan.
Indian authorities have not yet released an official statement, but British media outlet BBC confirmed Raj Kumar Thapa’s death. According to BBC, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah stated that Thapa was killed in Pakistani shelling while at his residence in Rajouri.
Abdullah expressed his deep shock, saying, “We have lost a dedicated officer of the Jammu and Kashmir administration. The officer’s residence was hit by Pakistani shelling, which targeted Rajouri city and killed Shri Raj Kumar Thapa.”
Officials also reported that at least two civilians were killed in the shelling in Jammu city, part of Indian-administered Kashmir.
