India Thrashes Australia by 295 Runs in Perth Test

India secured a massive 295-run victory against Australia in the first Test at Perth Stadium on Monday, taking a 1-0 lead in the five-match series.

Australia, chasing a huge target of 534 runs, was bowled out for 238 after tea on the fourth day. The loss extends Australia’s winless streak against India in Test series since 2015, leaving them with an uphill task in the remaining matches in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney.

India declared their second innings at an imposing 487/6, giving their bowlers a strong platform to dominate. Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah led the attack, taking three wickets each, while Washington Sundar and Harshit Rana contributed with two wickets apiece.

For Australia, Travis Head stood out with a gritty 89 runs, while Mitchell Marsh scored 47 and Alex Carey added 36. However, their efforts were not enough to withstand India’s relentless bowling performance.

India’s commanding victory puts them in a strong position as the series moves forward.
