On Saturday, India triumphed over Pakistan in the World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2024 final at Edgbaston Stadium, Birmingham.
Pakistan chose to bat first after winning the toss, setting a target of 157 runs for India. India successfully chased the target in 19.1 overs, losing 5 wickets.
India’s openers, Robin Uthappa and Ambati Rayudu, started aggressively. Despite losing Uthappa (10) and Suresh Raina (4) early, a 60-run partnership between Rayudu and Gurkeerat Singh steadied the innings. Rayudu scored a rapid 50 off 30 balls, hitting five fours and two sixes, while Gurkeerat added 34 runs off 33 balls.
Yusuf Pathan played a crucial role with a quick 30 off 16 balls, while captain Yuvraj Singh remained unbeaten with 15 runs from 22 balls. Irfan Pathan hit the winning shot off Sohail Tanvir’s bowling.
Aamer Yamin was Pakistan’s standout bowler, taking 2 wickets for 29 runs.
