Pakistan all-rounder Imad Wasim has once again announced his retirement from international cricket. The 35-year-old will continue playing domestic and franchise cricket worldwide.
Imad had initially retired from international cricket last year. However, his exceptional performance in the Pakistan Super League, where he won Player of the Match awards in all three playoff games for champions Islamabad United, led to his return to the T20 format.
Ahead of the T20 World Cup in the Caribbean, Imad rejoined Pakistan’s T20I squad after discussions with PCB officials. Unfortunately, Pakistan’s campaign ended in disappointment, as they failed to secure a Super 8 spot, losing to the United States. Since then, Imad has not been selected for the national team.
“After much thought and reflection, I have decided to retire from international cricket,” Imad shared on social media. “Representing Pakistan on the world stage has been the greatest honor of my life, and every moment in the green jersey has been unforgettable.
“While this chapter ends, I look forward to continuing my cricket journey through domestic and franchise leagues. I hope to keep entertaining all of you in new ways.”
