KARACHI, July 11, 2025 — Karachi Police confirmed today that the body of actress and model Humaira Asghar Ali has been handed over to her brother Naveed Asghar, following DNA verification. The remains, recovered in advanced decomposition—estimated to have been deceased since late 2024—had been in police custody during formal proceedings.
Police spokesperson DIG South zone, Syed Asad Raza, clarified that the handover followed completion of legal protocols. Naveed denied earlier rumors of family estrangement and stated that their initial hesitation stemmed from the shock of another recent bereavement.

Humaira, who gained popularity through the reality show Tamasha Ghar and dramas like Ehsaan Faramosh, had been living alone in a DHA apartment. Investigators found no signs of foul play, and the Sindh culture department had previously offered to arrange her burial amid family delays.
