Hezbollah Confirms Martyrdom of Leader Hassan Nasrallah in Israeli Strike

Hezbollah has confirmed the death of its secretary general, Hassan Nasrallah, in an Israeli airstrike on Beirut’s southern suburbs on Friday, marking the end of his 32-year leadership.

    In a statement, Hezbollah said:

“His eminence, the leader of the resistance and a righteous servant, has become a great martyr and has returned to his Lord, who is pleased with him.”

The group’s leadership pledged to continue its struggle against Israel, support Gaza and Palestine, and defend Lebanon and its people. However, the statement did not mention who would succeed Nasrallah or how Hezbollah would respond to his assassination.

Hezbollah reiterated its commitment to continue fighting against Israel.

    Who was Hassan Nasrallah?

Hassan Nasrallah led Hezbollah since February 1992, becoming the group’s third secretary-general after Abbas al-Musawi, who Israel killed. Nasrallah, 64, was born on August 31, 1960, in Burj Hammud, a northern suburb of Beirut.
