Hania Aamir joins UN Women Pakistan as National Goodwill Ambassador

UN Women Pakistan has appointed popular actor and youth icon Hania Aamir as its new National Goodwill Ambassador to champion gender equality and women’s empowerment.

In an announcement on Instagram, UN Women Pakistan said Hania will use her influence to raise awareness, inspire action, and amplify the voices of women and girls across the country.

“Together, we will continue working toward a future where every woman and girl can realise her full potential — free from violence, discrimination, and inequality,” the organisation stated.

Hania Aamir, known for her strong connection with young audiences, is one of Pakistan’s most recognisable entertainment figures. Her growing international recognition adds further weight to her new role.

Recently, Hania made her debut in the Indian Punjabi film Sardaar Ji 3 alongside Diljit Dosanjh, a move that earned her praise across borders and strengthened her position as a cultural bridge between Pakistan and India.

She was also honoured with the Global Star Award in Houston last week, acknowledging her expanding influence in both entertainment and advocacy.

Through her appointment, UN Women Pakistan aims to connect more deeply with youth audiences and expand programmes promoting gender equality, ending gender-based violence, and empowering women socially and economically.

With over 19 million Instagram followers, Hania Aamir remains Pakistan’s most-followed celebrity. Beyond acting, she uses her platform to engage with fans, share her journey, and promote causes that matter to her.
