Google Selects Two Pakistani Startups for First AI Academy in Asia-Pacific

Two Pakistani startups, AdalFi and Adlytic AI, have been chosen among 23 Asia-Pacific (APAC) region companies to join Google’s first-ever Artificial Intelligence (AI) Academy. The program aims to help these startups improve their AI solutions and boost business growth.

The AI Academy started with a three-day boot camp in Singapore earlier this week. Alongside companies from India, Korea, Japan, Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia, Pakistan’s AdalFi and Adlytic AI will benefit from expert mentorship. The participants will receive over 170 hours of guidance from AI and Cloud specialists and up to $350,000 in Google Cloud credits. They will also have opportunities to connect with AI innovators across the APAC region.

In a press release, Google highlighted the inclusion of the two Pakistani startups, stating, “Two innovative startups from Pakistan are among the 23 selected from across the APAC region to participate in Google’s first-ever AI Academy.”

Launched in August, the AI Academy aims to support the growth of AI startups in Pakistan and the wider APAC region. The program encourages cross-border collaboration and innovation, allowing participants to share ideas and resources to advance AI development. The goal is to make the APAC region a “global hub” for AI solutions.

The press release also highlighted the impact of these startups on Pakistan’s AI ecosystem. “AdalFi is improving access to financial services with its AI-driven credit scoring system, helping millions of individuals and small businesses,” it said. “Adlytic AI is revolutionizing retail analytics by turning CCTV cameras into smart tools, enabling businesses to use visual and geospatial data better.”

Micheal Kim, Head of Google for Startups, shared his excitement about the program. “AI has the potential to be a game-changer. These 23 startups are tackling tough challenges, from expanding access to financial services and healthcare to using AI to create solutions for lawyers and marketers,” he said. “Through this program, we hope to spark innovation that will have a lasting impact on the entire Asia-Pacific region.”

In December, all participating startups will present their “refined AI solutions” to investors, entrepreneurs, and AI leaders on Graduation Day.
