Fake Notification Claims Barrister Saif’s Removal as KP Info Adviser

Several posts on social media platform X on Thursday falsely claimed that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur had removed Barrister Mohammad Ali Saif from his role as information adviser. These posts shared an alleged notification of his dismissal, which has been confirmed as fake. No such action has been taken.

This rumor gained traction amid ongoing tensions between the federal government and the Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM). The government recently banned the PTM and prohibited their gatherings. Despite this, the group plans to hold a significant event in Khyber district from October 11-13.

In a video message, Barrister Saif supported the government’s decision, emphasizing that the PTM, as a banned organization, cannot hold meetings in Khyber due to a ban under Section 144.

Soon after Saif’s statement, multiple users on X began claiming that CM Gandapur had dismissed him from his position. One post by journalist Shakir Mehmood Awan gained over 63,000 views and was shared 1,900 times. The fake notification cited Saif’s dismissal for stating without informing the chief minister.

Following a fact-check, authorities confirmed that the notification circulating in WhatsApp groups is false, and Barrister Saif has not been removed from his position.
