A woman pretending to be an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) was arrested in Lahore after showing up at a police office wearing a fake uniform, media reports confirmed.
The woman, dressed in police uniform but with fancy shoes, demanded to speak with a “police officer” outside the office. Her unusual footwear raised suspicion among security personnel, prompting them to question her. During the interrogation, she failed to prove her identity as an ASP.
The Civil Lines police took her into custody and registered a case. According to the authorities, she is a resident of Defence, and an investigation is underway.
Earlier this year, a similar incident occurred when a man impersonated a police officer to rob tourists on the Islamabad-Haripur highway. The suspect, an employee of the police department, used a fake name and badge number. A police officer (SHO) protecting him was also suspended and removed from his position.
