Seoul: Brazil delivered a dominant performance as they crushed South Korea 5-0 in a friendly match on Friday, with young star Estevao scoring twice to lead the charge.
South Korea captain Son Heung-min marked his 137th international appearance, setting a new record for his country’s men’s team. However, it was Brazil’s night under the wet conditions in Seoul.
Estevao opened the scoring in the 13th minute with a close-range finish after a brilliant pass from Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimaraes. The young forward now has two goals in eight games for Brazil, cementing his place as one of the rising stars to watch ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
Brazil’s relentless attack continued, and four minutes before halftime, Rodrygo doubled the lead with a sharp finish after outsmarting the South Korean defense.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side, featuring stars like Vinicius Junior and Matheus Cunha, showed complete control throughout the match. After the break, both Estevao and Rodrygo found the net again within three minutes, extending Brazil’s lead to 4-0.
Vinicius sealed the emphatic win in the 77th minute, running half the field to score after a long pass from Cunha, delivering the goal of the night.
Brazil will now face Japan in their next fixture, while South Korea will host Paraguay on Tuesday.
