England Refuses to Host PSL 2025 Playoff Matches

The England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) will not host the Pakistan Super League (PSL) playoff matches next year.

According to Cricket Pakistan, PSL franchises were worried about costs. They were assured that an official would be sent to England to check the situation. But England denied the request because the grounds were unavailable.

Additionally, the PSL will clash with the IPL 2024, where many England players are expected to play.

The report also mentioned that some PCB officials are considering the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as an alternative venue. Though they are worried about the intense heat in May.

Recently, franchises raised concerns with the PCB about profit shares from the ninth edition and other issues. Franchise owners have yet to receive a response from the cricket board. But a senior official assured them in a call that a governing council meeting would be held soon to address their concerns.

The PSL 2025 will be played in April and May due to the ICC Champions Trophy scheduled for February 2025. This will be the first time the PSL overlaps with the Indian Premier League (IPL), as the Pakistan Cricket Board usually hosts the PSL in February and March each year.
