Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo, the world’s most followed person on social media with 917 million followers, launched his YouTube channel on Wednesday. Within a few hours, hundreds of thousands of people subscribed.
The 39-year-old, who has won the Ballon d’Or five times and plays for Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr, announced the launch on social media: “The wait is over. My @YouTube channel is finally here! SIUUUbscribe and join me on this new journey.”
Just hours after posting his first video, the “UR” channel reached 1.69 million subscribers. The channel will feature Ronaldo discussing his biggest passion—soccer—and other topics like family, wellness, nutrition, preparation, recovery, education, and business. He will also chat with various guests.
Earlier this year, Forbes ranked Ronaldo as the highest-paid athlete for the fourth time in his career.
