Comedian and YouTuber Aun Ali Khosa was reportedly abducted from his Lahore home on Wednesday night by masked men.
His brother, Ali Sher Khosa, announced the abduction on social media platform X, revealing that the men forcibly took Aun from his apartment. Ali Sher emphasized that extreme actions only escalate tensions instead of resolving issues.
Aun Ali Khosa’s current whereabouts remain unknown, leaving the Khosa family deeply concerned for his safety. They urgently call for prayers, support, and public awareness of this alarming situation.
The abduction highlights a troubling trend in Pakistan, where social media activists have increasingly become targets. Just last month, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) launched a social media campaign to raise awareness about the abduction of its activists and their families.
The PTI shared images of 10 missing social media activists, including Ahmed Waqas Janjua, the party’s international media coordinator, who was abducted from his Islamabad home. Janjua also served as a media adviser to PTI founder Imran Khan.
CCTV footage shared by the PTI showed Janjua’s enforced disappearance involving plainclothes individuals and police officers.
