Zulfiqar Ahmed, the CEO of Cola Next and managing director of Paracha Textile Mills and Mezan Group, safely returned to his Lahore home on Sunday, according to his family.
Ahmed went missing after eight armed men intercepted his white Toyota Surf and abducted him and a friend. The friend was later released and described the incident. Following this, Ahmed’s family and company management filed a report at the Kalri police station the same day.
However, the police initially refused to register the complaint, prompting the family to seek help from the Sindh High Court. The court ordered the police to file the case on Friday. Karachi Police Chief Javed Alam Odho mentioned that two specialized teams are investigating the case.
Cola Next, which has been positioning itself as an alternative to Coca-Cola since October, amid a movement to boycott products allegedly supporting Israel’s war on Gaza, saw its CEO abducted on July 23 after leaving his office in the city.
